In addition to a medical degree, Dr. Fried holds a Bachelor of Arts in sociology, a Master of Public Health in biostatistics, and a doctorate in epidemiology. He has served as assistant professor of radiation oncology at Wake Forest University School of Medicine, where he received the Faculty Teaching Award, the ARRO Resident Educator of the Year Award, and the ASTRO Health Services/Outcomes Research Travel Award. A noted researcher, Dr. Fried is nationally and internationally recognized in the fields of prostate, lung and breast cancers as well as stereotactic body radiotherapy. He lectures and publishes extensively and serves on the review boards of several respected medical journals. He has won numerous research service awards and fellowships and is a principal investigator for clinical research trials. Dr. Fried and his wife have four sons. He enjoys cycling, coaching soccer, and playing and listening to music.
