Upstate LiveLung Lung Cancer Group
Tuesday April 21, 2015
The Upstate LiveLung Lung Cancer Group will meet at 6 pm in the Education Read More »Room at the St. Francis Cancer Center, 104 Innovation Drive, Greenville. The meeting is free and open to everyone touched by lung cancer, including patients, survivors and those who care about them. Refreshments for attendees have been generously provided by Zoës Kitchen.

April’s featured speaker will be Neil Caesar who has survived the #1 cancer killer for more than 15 years. Caesar, husband and father of three, is a nationally-known health lawyer and civil rights advocate. He credits his survival to rhinitis, procrastination and lots of luck. Caesar will share what surviving cancer, “winning” or “losing” our battles, and living in the shadow of death means to him. He also discusses why being the hero of your own tale is important. The presentation includes audience participation dialogue about surviving and thriving.

Greenville LiveLung meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each month. The meetings are a program of the Dusty Joy Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization with a mission of advancing lung cancer education, early detection and compassion for those impacted by lung cancer. Bon Secours St. Francis supports the Greenville area LiveLung Lung Cancer Support group as a service to their patients, their families and friends, as well as to the community they serve. Patients from all area medical facilities are welcome to join the group.
